I am leaving to go on a business trip this week, and I am having a slight problem with luggage. The only piece of rolling luggage that I own is a hot pink bag that I have had since the 7th grade. It has always served its purpose, because it is easy to spot at luggage claim! Now that I am entering the real world, since the pink is not really "business-like" I was thinking that it is time to trade it in for something new!
Most of the time, I will be going out of town for only 2-3 days at a time, so I am thinking that carry on size would be the best. Also, since they have started to charge for checking luggage, that would save a few dollars here and there.
So here is what I am thinking... my Vera Bradley collection is this pink and brown pansy pattern. I would like whatever I find to coordinate, since I will be carrying these pieces together a lot. Espresso brown seems to be the most logical answer, because it will not get dirty and is still different enough from the black, navy, and hunter luggage everyone else has.
Here is what I found at TJ Maxx for around $50 each. I'm not sure if I can get away with the 25" size for carry on, but I know that the bottom two are the right size.
The small one on the right caught my attention with the blue lining (which matches the blue on my Vera Bradley pattern). I know all this really doesn't matter in the end, but it is nice when things match! Let me know what you think I should go with; or if you can think of a better option, I am all ears!

I have always bought luggage at Macy's or JC Penny and it's served me well! I still have pieces that I bought 11 years ago with my mom when i was in high school!!! And both always have luggage sales! Also, you're usually allowed to check at least one bag for free and two if it's international...
Good luck!
I am a Hartmann girl-Tweed. Tjmax and Marshalls seem to have reasonably priced items. I think a lot of professional woman match their brief cases and lean toward black. The brown is nice choice so your luggage will stand out. I am not sure of your profession, but I think luggage is an important statement and worth making an investment in Tumi or Hartmann. This does not have to be done today...but check out successful looking people and their luggage at the airport and your will see. Hope this helps.
I love the brown with blue lining!!! If you get a suitcase like that, it will last you forever!!!
I have the same Vera pattern! I got the entire set when I got into college and have just loved it!
As PPPG said, I am Hartmann girl too. I have taken coutnless trips abroad and this is the ONLY luggage I will use. It is so well made and while it may seem a bit steep it is worth the investment. You can get involved with buying something that may seem like a good deal, but when you have to replace it every two years the good deal is no more. I have had my peices of Hartmann for EIGHT years and they are still as good as new!
I love the brown with the light blue lining, so cute! These will be a good investment. My luggage is bright blue, piped in lime green and I do take it on my business trips haha but usually I'm traveling to golf tournaments so it's not a big deal. I could do with some new luggage though!
All of my luggage (which I'll admit is not much) is from TJ Maxx or Marshall's. I love that brown and blue! Very chic!
Hi lady! I gave you a blog award today. Pick it up when you are ready. Xoxo-BLC
Hi! I just found you from Preppy 101's blog and I'm enjoying reading your posts!
Love the brown suitcase with the blue lining. I think that would be a great choice!
I look forward to following your blog!
I love the brown with blue lining. My hard luggage was a high school graduation present and I have no idea what it is. I do know it is an UGLY dark green color. I would love some new but can't really see investing in it right now. I love my Vera and have the complete set in Apple Green. TJ and Marshalls always seeem to have pretty good luggagge.
